This term 1st Martham Guides organised their own fairground games evening to raise money for Caister Lifeboat Station. They did all the preparation and ran the stalls themselves, which included selling cakes, guess the weight of the cake, face painting, sponge the Guide and many more. On Tuesday 8th June the Guides visited Caister Lifeboat Station and after an informative tour the Patrol who had raised the most handed over a cheque for £100.
1st Gayton Brownies' had a Centenary Teddy Bears Picnic. Girls and
teddies (all 100 of them!) had a lovely evening with a picnic tea and parachute
games. We all lit a candle on Centenary Birthday cakes and made a wish as we
blew them out.
To
celebrate the centenery the 1st Hunstanton rainbows had a princess party with a
birthday cake, we sang happy birthday to girlguiding, they dressed up as
princesses and we made tiaras as well as played princess themed party games.

Finally the summer arrived - just in
time for 3rd Attleborough Brownies to enjoy an evening on the water at Eaton
Vale. The weather was warm and the spare clothes were at the ready when
the Brownies tried canoeing - the first time many of them had tried this
activity. In groups of three, the girls sat in the boats assisted by the
instructors at Eaton Vale and the Brownie leaders. The girls navigated a
small stretch of the river before rafting up together to sing the 'hokey
cokey', complete with actions. Before long it was time to paddle back to
where we had started which included having a water fight on the way back!

I
am a 19 year old senior section member from essex west division and I am
looking to collect as many centenary badges, from different areas and
divisions, as possible by the end of the centenary.
I was just wondering if you had any specific centenary badges from Norfolk that
are available for purchase.
I am aiming to get 100 different cenenary badges so that they can all be sewn
onto my camp blanket and i will have a constant reminder of this fantastic year
in guiding history.

A series of quizzes are available for all age groups at http://www.girlguidingnorfolkheritage.org.uk/. They are based on the posters produced by
Girlguiding and distributed to all districts with the themes Adventure,
Changing Worlds, Challenges, Here and Now, Beginnings and Flying High.
If they do get used it
would be brilliant to have a small donation towards our ARC - Archive Resource
Centre - details on the website above.
