Our collection includes hundreds of original uniforms from the 1920s to the present day, including neckers, belts and hats. We have camp blankets, flags, bags, banners and even soft toys.
We have hundreds of badges and the ‘badge bible’ to help identify and date them.
Our library holds everything from a first edition copy of Agnes Baden-Powell’s original 1912 handbook How Girls Can Help Build Up The Empire to examples of badge books, handbooks, training manuals, songbooks, annuals and storybooks from every decade since. We have a treasure trove of Girlguiding logbooks, photo albums, certificates and scrapbooks from all over Norfolk.
Prestigious items from national Girlguiding figures such as Lady Olave Baden-Powell and Beryl Cozens-Hardy, are an important part of the collection, as are pieces from significant local founder members including the Patteson sisters and Beryl Colman (Lady Mayhew). We also have some very special royal connections with Sandringham House, including log books and memorabilia from the Guide unit there.
