It's a wrap
Thursday, 11 December 2008

laurenatchocshow5a1.jpg

1st Long Stratton Guides worked on the chocolate badge and GOFI during the autumn term learning about chocolate and designing a wrapper for a 21st Century chocolate bar.  All the wrappers designed by the guides were entered in the Chocolate Show competition detailed in October Blue Sheet.  Lauren Clarson won the youngest category with her Venus Bar and received tickets to the show, a named chocolate plaque, Chocolate Show teddy bear, a pencil and magnet, Massaggi Chocolate Body Wash and a box of Pure Indulgence Chocolate, she assures me she is only eating one a day!

Well done Lauren

The Jam Van

The Jam Van is looking to engage with rurally isolated young people in rural parts of Breckland and the surrounding five market towns using innovative arts workshops and CME “mmm” (music and multi-media) activities to find out which art activities they enjoy most.  The Jam Van can work with 6 -8 young people on the Van but can move computers, etc into a venue so they can work with more young people.

Centenary Launch Party Read more...
Wednesday, 03 December 2008

Have you started planning your centenary launch party yet?  The question that keeps coming back to us is why the 5th and 6th September 2009, which is before most of us have our first unit meeting that term?   The dates are to coincide with the 4th September 1909 which was when a group of girls approached Lord Baden-Powell at the first Boy Scout Rally at Crystal Palace and demanded something for them.  They wanted to be Girl Scouts!  B-P took this idea away, and the rest as they say, is history!
