Things to do

We have been sent some information about some activities in the County that may be of interest to you as you get your units up and running again or to share with your girls.

Petanque

My name is Mark Bell and I am the regional coach for the sport of Petanque in the East Anglia region.

I am writing to you today to try and organise some come and try events for your girl guide groups when it is safe to do so. I am looking to arrange the events after the third stage of lessening restrictions on 17th May, so that all the facilities can be open.

I am messaging you now as I know from past experiences with groups like yourself that you get your events booked up well in advance so looking to get something penciled in with you when we can.

If you would like any more info please let me know

Transport Strategy Competition

Transport East is launching a creative competition for young people across the East of England to incorporate their ideas into the region’s future Transport Strategy. Winners will receive a gift voucher and have their work used throughout the Transport Strategy.

The Transport for a Greener Future competition is running until Monday 3rd May.

Download the Transport for a greener world competition brief for all of the details or see Transport for a greener world competition – Transport East.

Transport East are the Sub-national Transport Body for Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Southend-on-Sea, and Thurrock. We are a partnership of the local authorities working to improve the transport systems across the whole of the East of England for the next 30 years. A priority for Transport East is to encourage awareness of issues such as sustainable transport, climate change and net-zero amongst young people.  The decisions being made now will have the biggest impact on this generation’s day to day lives for the next 30 years and beyond.

If you have any questions or would like further information on our Transport for a Greener Future competition, please contact us.
