Rainbow leader receives the British Empire Medal (BEM) for services to education

Karen Goldsworthy, Rainbow leader and District Commissioner for Sprowston has been awarded a BEM for services to education in the 2019 New Year’s Honours list.


Karen joined Sparhawk Infant and Nursery School in Norwich nearly 18 years ago and has remained there as a teaching assistant and school governor. For more on Karen’s award please look at this article from the EDP.

Karen is also well known to many in the County as the very hardworking and efficient Director of Site Services at NORJAM – the Norfolk Scout and Guide Jamboree held every four years at the Norfolk Showground in Norwich.
