The units are always busy and on the lookout for new activities to extend the girls abilities and enjoyment. Almost all units take part in residentials and camps including International holidays with several units heading off to Disneyland Paris over the last year.
We are lucky to be close to 2 Girlguiding Activity Centres, Hautbois House & Patteson Lodge and Eaton Vale, situated South of Norwich run in partnership with Norfolk Scouts, so we regularly take part in outdoor activities such as crate stacking, kayaking, high ropes, abseiling and archery to name but a few.
2015 saw Wensum celebrating our 20th birthday. We celebrated with a party for 400 which included an Entertainer for Rainbows, Brownes, Guides and Senior Section who all enjoyed the obligatory super sweet and sticky Cup Cakes. Units in the Division get together for sleepover’s, camps, parties and activity days enabling the girls to spend time with friends from other units and to enjoy experiences which are different to those run within their usual weekly meeting times.
We hold a Giant Brownie Sleepover every 3 years, the last one saw 160 girls all sleeping in a beautiful old high ceilinged building in Norwich. In 2015 we held a Guide & Senior Section Camp during one of the hottest weekends of the year and a Sleepover at Pax Lodge, London in February 2016.
A Leaders Sleepover was held at a Tented Village, as a thank you we all enjoyed a wonderful 3 course a la carte meal and gave Leaders the opportunity to try out the venue before taking their girls.
