Girlguiding Norfolk is proud of the way our volunteers support all of our members.
Girlguiding Norfolk is a vibrant community dedicated to empowering girls and young women across the region. Norfolk is known for its stunning landscapes, from picturesque coastlines and charming villages to the serene Broads. With 90 miles of coastline, a royal estate, rural communities and a city with a Norman castle - we have a lot to offer! This unique environment provides an ideal backdrop for outdoor adventures, making our guiding experience truly special.
With a rich history and a commitment to fostering leadership, friendship, and personal growth, we create a supportive space where girls can explore their interests and develop new skills. Our programs reflect the spirit of Norfolk, incorporating local traditions and outdoor activities that celebrate our beautiful surroundings. From beach hikes to nature conservation projects, we emphasize the importance of connecting with our environment.
We offer diverse activities for all age groups, including arts and crafts, science experiments, and community service projects, all designed to promote teamwork, confidence, and a sense of belonging. Our younger members are supported by teams of volunteers who run meetings. We are looking for keen volunteers, not just based at units! Some volunteers support units by providing admin support or become commissioners (team leaders) to help with planning of events and supporting unit leaders.
We also welcome volunteers at our 'home' for Girlguiding Norfolk;
Patteson lodge estate has volunteers who support us by fundraising, helping at events, upkeep of the lodge and campsite and a team of monthly gardeners!
The ARC, GGN's accredited museum, hosts a wealth of Girlguiding historical items. They have open days and provide workshops and meet regularly to work with the donations they receive.
