About Us

Girlguiding Norfolk is proud of the way our volunteers support all of our members.

Who we are

Girlguiding Norfolk is a vibrant community dedicated to empowering girls and young women across the region. Norfolk is known for its stunning landscapes, from picturesque coastlines and charming villages to the serene Broads. With 90 miles of coastline, a royal estate, rural communities and a city with a Norman castle - we have a lot to offer! This unique environment provides an ideal backdrop for outdoor adventures, making our guiding experience truly special.

What We Do

With a rich history and a commitment to fostering leadership, friendship, and personal growth, we create a supportive space where girls can explore their interests and develop new skills. Our programs reflect the spirit of Norfolk, incorporating local traditions and outdoor activities that celebrate our beautiful surroundings. From beach hikes to nature conservation projects, we emphasize the importance of connecting with our environment.

What is Girlguiding?

We offer diverse activities for all age groups, including arts and crafts, science experiments, and community service projects, all designed to promote teamwork, confidence, and a sense of belonging. Our younger members are supported by teams of volunteers who run meetings - and those volunteers are also supported by teams of adults in adviser or team leader roles. Join us as we inspire the next generation of leaders and changemakers in Girlguiding Norfolk, encouraging them to dream big and achieve their goals while embracing the unique charm of our region!

Now you know more about us, why not consider joining us?

We are looking for keen volunteers, not just based at units! Some volunteers support units by providing admin support or become commissioners (team leaders) to help with planning of events and getting to know how they can support unit leaders. We also welcome volunteers in our residential premises;

At Patteson lodge estate we have Millefleur gardeners who are restoring the plants the would have originally been in the area. Meanwhile other gardeners are working on the woodland to make it an exciting places for younger member to explore.
The ARC is GGN's accredited museum and volunteers give their time to record and store a wealth of historical items. They also run workshops and open days for anyone interested.
Friends of ... we are lucky that both Patteson Lodge and Keswick campsite have Friends groups who fundraise to support the venues.
