Going away with Guiding

Going away with Guiding is a popular guiding experience providing opportunities to make new friends and offer new experiences whilst having fun and creating happy memories.

Norfolk is a beautiful county that can offer Girlguiding members a variety of residential and camping opportunities in settings that may be beside the sea, surrounded by fields, an activity centre with lots of outdoor pursuits or a quiet village hall that offers girls the opportunity for their first sleep over.

Girlguiding Norfolk supports a number of different properties across the county which offer simple camping or residential opportunities to more active experience such as canoeing and high ropes. Equally there are plenty of opportunities that Norfolk units use in their local neighbourhood.

Girlguiding supports leaders to be able to take girls away through the Going Away With Scheme, which provides all sorts of notes, tips and hints to help make sure a unit holiday runs smoothly, safely and everyone has a good time. Leaders require a qualification to take girls away and the permission of their local Commissioner.

Girlguiding Norfolk has an enthusiastic team of skilled advisers who will support new leaders and work with commissioners to ensure that the appropriate standards are being maintained.
