Girlguiding Norfolk
Our division has four districts; Acle, Blofield, Hautbois and Stalham, and they cover many smaller villages in the area. Within our division we have Hautbois activity Centre, Patteson lodge estate and Girlguiding Norfolk’s Archive Resource Centre – each offers different events and activities and keeps our division thriving and energetic. You can find links to those centres on this website. Although we have these opportunities on our doorstep, we also are lucky to be able to offer international events as well – one of our popular destinations is Our Chalet, the first WAGGGS world centre.
In Broadland we not only want to offer a wide range of opportunities for our younger members, we also focus on our adult members too. We have many Trefoil Guilds, which are for anyone over 18 and a division team who run events especially for adults – not your average social evening, as we too enjoy paddleboarding and geocashing when we get the chance.
Starting at 4 years old, our Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers are aware that we help girls know that they can do anything. We give girls a space to belong and have fun. We show them leadership skills and listen to them – the latest research has resulted in 72 new interest badges and the many took part in the consultation over the uniform redesign due in 2026. Every year we hold a Girls Attitude Survey, to understand the problems they face in today’s world – and what we can do to help them.
Like many voluntary organisations we are always keen to encourage more volunteers. Volunteering with us isn’t just about campfires and helping girls to get their next badge – although those are special moments. It’s about empowering girls and giving them new experiences. It’s helping girls realise their own potential, sharing and developing your skills, all while having the time of your life.
If you see our logo at a village fete come and talk to us – we are a friendly and welcoming area and, unlike the tourists we are here all year round!
