Central Norfolk division is divided into 2 districts: Dereham North and Dereham South.
Dereham is at the central point of our division, and our districts are Dereham North and Dereham South. We have Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers who make up our division, led by teams of volunteers –but we would always welcome more!
Dereham also has a Trefoil Guild which supports us during events – of which there are many, as we enjoy working together as districts and a division to give our leaders the support they need, and our younger members to opportunities they deserve. Being central to Norfolk, means we never have to travel too far for an exciting day out on the coast or at Eaton Vale Activity Centre, near Norwich. We have a history which includes international trips and are looking forward to taking part in NORJAM at Norwich Showground this summer.
Starting at 4 years old, our Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers are aware that we help girls know that they can do anything. We give girls a space to belong and have fun. We show them leadership skills and listen to them – the latest research has resulted in 72 new interest badges and the many took part in the consultation over the uniform redesign due in 2026. Every year we hold a Girls Attitude Survey, to understand the problems they face in today’s world – and what we can do to help them.
Like many voluntary organisations we are always keen to encourage more volunteers. Volunteering with us isn’t just about campfires and helping girls to get their next badge – although those are special moments. It’s about empowering girls and giving them new experiences. It’s helping girls realise their own potential, sharing and developing your skills, all while having the time of your life.
