Welcome to a sunny summary of what awaits you on a visit to Lowestoft division, the most easterly division in the UK.

The division spans Hopton in the North to Kessingland in the South, reaching West to Blundeston, Oulton and Oulton Broad where ‘Broadland meets the sea’.

We have four districts within Lowestoft division; North Lowestoft, South Lowestoft, Oulton Broad North and Oulton Broad South.

Steeped in history, Lowestoft has many interesting places to visit. Although the once thriving fishing industry has now declined, the fishery scores still remain. Our Trefoil Guild meet at The Den in the high street, right in the heart of this historic area, between the scores.

Lowestoft division is tucked away at the very South East corner of Norfolk county Guiding. Although geographically in Suffolk, it was the express wish of Lady Bridget Somerleyton that Lowestoft be part of Norfolk Guiding as her husband, Lord Somerleyton had been in the Norfolk Regiment, later to be the Royal Norfolk Regiment. Our Norfolk badge is their insignia.

The Somerleyton Estate is much loved by us all, including the Maze.

The present Lord Somerleyton, Hugh Crossley, is president of Lowestoft Scouting and the Herringfleet Campsite is a popular site used by us on the Somerleyton Estate.

Other local attractions include: Africa Alive!, Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park & Fritton Lake Countryworld.

As a division we try to do activities for all girls in division to try to interact them together, like crabbing competition, trips to circus and other places and other activities. We take part in residential stays at Eaton Vale Activity Centre, camps at Herringfleet, attending the BIG GIG and trips to the wonderful Beach. We also arrange leaders weekends to get all leaders together.
