Wensum division

Wensum, being the largest division in Norfolk with 42 Units, located just North and North West of Norwich, stretches from Spixworth & Old Catton across to Easton.

Wensum division is located both north and north west of Norwich,

it stretches from Spixworth & Old Catton across to Easton

The units are always busy and on the lookout for new activities to extend the girls abilities and enjoyment. We are lucky to be close to many Girlguiding centres, Hautbois Activity Centre,  Patteson Lodge Estate, Eaton Vale activity centre and Keswick campsite. We regularly take part in outdoor activities such as crate stacking, kayaking, high ropes, abseiling and archery to name but a few. Almost all units take part in residentials and camps including international holidays.

Starting at 4 years old, our Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers are aware that we help girls know that they can do anything. We give girls a space to belong and have fun. We show them leadership skills and listen to them – the latest research has resulted in 72 new interest badges and the many took part in the consultation over the uniform redesign due in 2026. Every year we hold a Girls Attitude Survey, to understand the problems they face in today’s world – and what we can do to help them.

Like many voluntary organisations we are always keen to encourage more volunteers. Volunteering with us isn’t just about campfires and helping girls to get their next badge – although those are special moments. It’s about empowering girls and giving them new experiences. It’s helping girls realise their own potential, sharing and developing your skills, all while having the time of your life.
